Frequently Asked Questions
What is Rise Academy?
Rise Academy is a Christian humanities and arts enrichment program designed to complement home education. We partner with homeschooling families by providing rich learning experiences rooted in great books, history, the arts, and a Biblical worldview.
Our desire is to cultivate wisdom, wonder, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning while supporting parents in the work they are already doing at home.
Is Rise Academy a school?
No. Rise Academy is an enrichment program for homeschooling families, not a full-time school.
Parents remain the primary educators and are responsible for meeting Colorado homeschool requirements. We come alongside families by providing meaningful instruction, discussion, hands-on projects, and community.
Who is Rise Academy for?
Rise Academy is designed for Christian homeschooling families who desire a literature-rich, faith-filled education grounded in the humanities and the arts.
Whether you're new to homeschooling or have been educating your children for years, our goal is to encourage and equip your family with joyful learning experiences.
What ages will you serve?
Our initial offerings are still being finalized. We are currently gathering feedback from local families to determine which age groups and classes will best serve our community.
If you're interested, we'd love for you to complete our Interest Survey.
What subjects will be taught?
In the 2026-2027 school year, the following subjects will be taught:
History
Geography
Fine Arts
Theater
Latin (if there is sufficient interest)
Literature, artists, music, and architecture will be woven into history lessons to provide a richer learning experience.
Every subject is taught through the lens of the historic Christian faith, helping students see God's truth, beauty, and goodness throughout His creation and throughout history.
What curriculum do you use?
Rather than following a single publisher, Rise Academy draws from a variety of high-quality living books, classic literature, primary sources, and time-tested educational resources.
Our approach is inspired by the Charlotte Mason tradition, emphasizing rich ideas, beautiful books, narration, discussion, and meaningful relationships with truth, goodness, and beauty.
What do you mean by a "literature-rich" education?
We believe that great books shape both the mind and the heart.
Instead of relying primarily on textbooks and worksheets, students encounter history through biographies, cultures through stories, science through living books, and timeless ideas through classic literature. These books naturally invite thoughtful discussion, narration, writing, and deeper understanding.
What is your statement of faith?
Our statement of faith can be read here.
Will parents stay on campus?
While Rise Academy is a drop-off enrichment program, we do anticipate parent involvement in one of two ways:
A small number of parents may choose to serve as classroom assistants throughout the school year in exchange for a reduced tuition rate.
If there are not enough year-round classroom assistants, families may be asked to volunteer as a classroom assistant for one or two class days during the school year.
Volunteering is intentionally simple and does not involve teaching or lesson preparation. Classroom assistants help with general supervision, classroom organization and cleanup, and practical needs so that the teacher can focus on instruction.
Where will classes be held?
Rise Academy will hold classes in Castle Rock, Colorado. We are currently exploring local church facilities and other community spaces for classes. Location details will be announced as they are finalized.
When will Rise Academy begin?
We are currently finalizing the planning stage of our Fall 2026 launch. We are planning for classes to begin the week of Labor Day. Once our location has been finalized, we will announce our 2026-2027 academic calendar.
Are you hiring teachers?
While we are not actively looking for additional teachers, our needs may change once enrollment is open. If you are interested and have teaching experience in the humanities or arts, please reach out to us in our contact form.
How can I stay informed?
